Anonymous asked: For your animation, what digital/physical materials and equipment do you use? And at what point do you add colors? Any other advice for a fledgling animator? I'm new to animation so please forgive my ignorance. Also, I'm aware these questions could be answered through a Google search but I'm more interested in your specific process. Thanks for taking the time to answer and for all the work you've created!
I draw on the 12” Cintiq hooked up to an iMac with the Adobe Creative Suite version 5.5 installed which includes Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects which is my prime combo of programs for animation. The animating happens in Flash or After Effects. The traditionally drawn 2D animation happens in Flash. Or on paper, but less so recently. I clean up and color the animation in Flash too and then put the animation files on top of the background art in After Effects. You can also animate in other programs like TV Paint or Toon Boom and there are ways to animate just in Photoshop if you have After Effects too to output it.
